We are raising awareness of Greater Sandhill Cranes!

Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition (“CCCC”) conserves and protects the Rocky Mountain Population of Greater Sandhill Cranes and their habitat using science and education to connect people with this iconic species. CCCC is the collaborative leader in fostering long-term sustainability of the Rocky Mountain Population of Greater Sandhill Cranes.

Greater Sandhill Cranes remain a Tier One Species of Concern in the state of Colorado. Threats to this iconic species include habitat loss, development, climate change and drought. CCCC's programs not only benefit cranes, but also the many other wildlife species that share habitat with the cranes.

CCCC presents the annual Yampa Valley Crane Festival, a 4-day event that educates the public about cranes and celebrates their presence in Northwest Colorado. CCCC also sponsors an on-the-ground habitat improvement program called Crops for Cranes. We offer crane educational programs to school and community groups and promote crane awareness through various contests held throughout the year, including the First Crane Sighting Contest, the Crane Photo Contest, the Crane Coloring Contest, the Festival Poster Contest, and the Crane-inspired Creative Arts Scholarship Contest.
